How Diamonds are Graded
The four measures every diamond is assessed by — and what actually matters when choosing yours.
Cut
The most important C. Cut determines how a diamond interacts with light — its brilliance, fire, and scintillation. Always prioritise an Excellent or Very Good cut grade.
Colour
Graded D (colourless) to Z (light yellow). D–F are colourless. G–H offer excellent value and appear white to the naked eye in most settings.
Clarity
Measures internal inclusions and external blemishes. VS1–VS2 are eye-clean in almost all cases. We never sell stones below SI2 clarity.
Carat
Weight, not size. 1 carat = 0.2 grams. A well-cut 0.9ct can appear larger than a poorly-cut 1.0ct stone.
